Mrs. Rice
Mrs. Rice

I asked Mrs. Rice a math teacher here at Dawson Springs High School the following questions

  • What is your favorite thing about being an educator?  Being able to help students understand something they thought they couldn’t.
  • What is the thing you like the least about being an educator? Grading papers
  • What are you and your students doing in class right now? We are learning ;). Depending on the class we are working on everything from least common multiples to dividing polynomials.
  • How do you keep your students engaged? Or, what is your students' favorite part of the activity? I keep students engaged by putting them in groups and monitoring their progress.
  • What challenges does your current activity present for you and your students? The depth of understanding is difficult if the prerequisites were not learned to mastery.
  • What is your greatest accomplishment so far this school year? Seeing the students gain confidence in their ability.
