This weeks spotlight is about our resident Biology Teacher Mrs. Miller

  1. What is your favorite thing about being an educator?
  2. What is the thing you like the least about being an educator?
  3. What are you and your students doing in class right now?
  4. How do you keep your students engaged? Or, what is your students' favorite part of the activity?
  5. What challenges does your current activity present for you and your students?
  6. What is your greatest accomplishment so far this school year?

I absolutely love when a light goes on in a student's eye when a difficult concept finally makes sense to them.
It truly bothers me when I cannot figure out how to help my students have greater success in my class and truly appreciate the awesome processes that allow us to have life.
We are in our Cell Energetics Unit.  We are finishing up Photosynthesis before Thanksgiving break and will pick up with Cell Respiration when we get back.  Next up is Cell Division.
I like to incorporate as much exploratory activity as I can by having students do modeling of concepts and labs to test out what has been taught.  My students prefer to be hands-on!  Sometimes it is a struggle to find or come up with such activities.
The biochemical processes of photosynthesis and cellular respiration are challenging.
My greatest accomplishment this year is that I feel much more relaxed and less stressed regarding the content that I am teaching.
